Normalize your ventrilo settings

Everytime I go into a ventrilo there is always that one person that is either blowing my eardrums out or is way too quiet. Here is a way that will make everyone to have about the same volume in ventrilo regardless of their settings.
First click on 'Setup' while ventrilo is running, then 'Enable Direct Sound' and click the 'SFX' button.
Then highlight 'Compressor' and click the 'Add' button
You will want to change the setting to these for best peformance and the most normal sound. 'Gain' is how loud you want all of the people to sound, I use 15 and it works quite well for me.
- Gain - 15
- Attack - 10.00
- Release - ~500
- Threshold - ~-30
- Ratio - 100
- Pre Delay - 4.0
Once you have all this setup, click 'OK' through all the dialogs and now you should have less problems with your co-members in ventrilo blowing your out eardrums or swearing at you because you didn't hear them. Enjoy!
